Hmt Ntr Embahra Maat sits in a cushioned chair and holds up her ceremonial Ankh.

Embahra Maat SetepenAst is the Hmt Ntrt (high priestess) of The House of Auset, the House of Magickal Devotion, inaugurated in the summer of 2025, serving as a teacher, guide, and diviner to residents and supporters of the House across the country. She was first initiated at the Temple of Anu, where she taught First Eye on KMT, introducing students to the Kmty tradition, and Kmty Women’s Wisdom Training, preparing women for initiation. In addition, Embahra led NTRelationships workshops, introducing attendees to an understanding of and connection with the Divine Forces. She is a graduate of Sacred Woman, a journey created by Queen Afua which engages Kmty practices for holistic healing.

Embahra considers it a great honor to serve as a priestess to the community. She offers divination services to seekers aiming to manifest their higher selves, presides over blessing way ceremonies for expecting mothers, naming and blessing ceremonies for adults and children, and leads rituals hosted by the House of Magickal Devotion that empower those walking the path of Maat.

Embahra is also an author and songwriter who got her start as the winner of a playwright contest in middle school. During her undergraduate career, she concentrated her English degree in Creative Writing, where she experimented with poetry, short stories, and children’s stories. Embahra served as writer and editor-in-chief of The Caellian, the progressive student magazine of Douglass College at Rutgers University-New Brunswick, and later enrolled in fiction writing courses through the School of Professional Studies at NYU. After graduating from Rutgers, Embahra began a career in the publishing industry, spending over twenty years as an editor, project manager, and team leader at a major publishing house based in NYC. She supported dozens of instructors and authors at higher education institutions with the development and publication of their personalized and self-authored content, used in humanities, social sciences, and STEM undergraduate classrooms.

These aspects of her journey converged with the publication of her first novel, Hidden By Moonlight, and the founding of her editorial services company, Lady of Reeds. Embahra is currently writing her second novel, The Great Falcon, accepting author clients who seek support as they prepare their books to be self-published, and compiling a collection of Kmty children's stories featuring lessons about culture, responsibility, and reciprocity taught by the adventures and examples of the Ntrw.
